BKG Photography catches moments in time- or time itself; many of which slow down and present themselves to my eye. BKG stands for “Bombro Koyo Ganda,” a song by legendary artist/producer Bonobo. My photography relates directly to the spiritual, energetic, ceremonial, and corporeal chants used in his piece. The chants derive from Morocco’s Gnawa music dating back to pre-Islam.

BKG photography is intended to evoke, move, mystify, and perpetuate your spiritual and physical emotions, just as the Gnawa tradition does. A tradition which calls upon the seven spirits- represented by seven colors- to reconnect, reintegrate, and rebalance human consciousness and energy with the universal energies supporting divine creativity.
